Leitch's Stan Moote Elected to Board of Video Services Forum, Inc.

TORONTO -- Leitch Technology Corporation is pleased to announce that Stan Moote, Leitch chief technology officer, has been elected to the board of directors of Video Services Forum, Inc., the foremost association of video transport industry players.

Video Services Forum, Inc. (VSF) is an association of video transport service providers, equipment vendors, and other like parties involved in promoting the acceptance and implementation of video transport services, products and applications. The organization's activities include identifying issues in the development, engineering, installation, testing and maintenance of audio and video services; exchanging non-proprietary information to promote technological development; resolving issues common to the video services industry; and encouraging technical standards for national and international standards bodies.

"Leitch has been a charter member of VSF, and we welcome Stan to our board," said Steven Storozum, president of VSF. "The presence of a respected professional video equipment manufacturer with Leitch's breadth of experience will serve to strengthen the link between service providers and end users and will facilitate the achievement of our objectives."

Stan started his career in broadcasting at CFTO-TV Toronto in 1977 and in 1980 co-founded Digi-tel Inc., a digital video design company acquired by Leitch as a subsidiary in 1984. As chief technology officer for Leitch, Stan's responsibilities include generating future product concepts based on technology and customer trends; researching the technical feasibility of new business areas; and establishing strategic technology partnerships.
