ACT: Learner driver nabbed after crashing into garden
CANBERRA, Dec 28 AAP - A learner driver was more than five times over the limit when
he ran his car off the road and into someone's front yard, Canberra police say.
It's the second time in less than a week a learner driver has been caught drunk driving
on Canberra roads.
Police were called to a Flynn house, in Canberra's northwest, at 6am (AEDT) on Monday,
where they apprehended a 20-year-old unaccompanied learner driver.
He'd crashed his silver Nissan pulsar into the front garden.
No one was injured, but the man was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.114
despite being restricted to a limit of 0.02 as a learner driver, ACT Policing said.
He has been summonsed to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on a high-level drink
driving charge.
